Calf problem leaves McPharlin out of Western Derby

FREMANTLE Dockers defender Luke McPharlin looks certain to miss the Western Derby this Sunday with a calf problem and he is not the only star name set for a stint on the sidelines.

Brownlow medallist Jobe Watson will be out for at least six weeks with a broken collarbone following a bump from Port Adelaide's Justin Westhoff, while Sydney forward Sam Reid was waiting on results of scans yesterday on the quad injury he picked up against Melbourne.

In bad news for the Adelaide Crows, Aidan Riley has had surgery on a broken right leg he suffered against West Coast and will miss the rest of the season.

Port Adelaide half-back Jasper Pittard could also miss Saturday's clash with Hawthorn with a foot injury.

He was on crutches yesterday and was set for scans.
