Bandits pour petrol over couple during home invasion
A BRISBANE couple in their 60s have been terrorised by knife-wielding bandits and doused with petrol during a horrifying home invasion in the city's northern suburbs at the weekend.
Queensland Police said four balaclava-clad men armed with a knife and a machete entered the house on Bridge St, Wooloowin, during the early hours of Sunday morning and threatened the couple.
Police say the attackers poured petrol over a 64-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man and threatened to set them alight if they did not hand over money.
The men stole jewellery and a purse containing cash.
The 64-year-old woman was struck on the face as one of the attackers fled the house, which resulted in a small laceration under her eye.
Police believe the men left the scene in two vehicles, one a silver-coloured sport utility vehicle and the other unknown.
