
140th Stanthorpe parkrun a blast of fun
WINDY conditions could not stop runners from joining the parkrun fun on Saturday morning.
Despite temperatures below 2 degrees, 49 runners including 11 first timers made it to the start - and finish - line.
July parkrunner of the month Rob Chapman said parkrun was "just good”.
"I walk it most of the way,” he said. "I look forward to it every week.”
Male placings: James Fox came first with a time of 20:41 minutes. Michael Mueller claimed second place in 21:09. With a time of 22:12, Robert Duff came third.
Female placings: Hannah Debnam came first with a great time of 22:45. Junior Brigid O'Dea came second scoring a massive time of 23:32, taking a whopping half a minute off her previous best time. Marina Water- worth came third in 23:41.
Personal bests were also achieved by Stephen Simon, Cheryl Bennett and Lesley Saunders. A big thank you goes to volunteers Shane and Lucy Andersen, Shane Dachs, Sav Giammattei, Rachel Gibb, Cherryl Lawer and Debbie Perkins.
