Stanthorpe put on some decent weather for last weekend's triples bowls carnival.

Stanthorpe Bowls Club president Justin Liddy said Sunday saw the annual event chalk up another success.

"We had brilliant weather and everybody enjoyed themselves,” Liddy said.

He said a team of local players, headed by Mick Mills, won the day.

The team of Nev Morris from Texas came in second, followed by private team led by Len Covill in third place.

Peter Collis' team, from Teneriffe, won the last game of the day.

Liddy said there were 42 players and numerous spectators throughout the day.

He said club patron, Jack Prandolini, attended and was celebrating his 92nd birthday that day.

Liddy said the condition of the bowling green was a highlight.

"We got complements on the state of the green,” he said. "It was the best that some of them has played on for a long time.”

Liddy said the club also launched its new shirts on the day.

He thanked the Stanthorpe Community Bank, which had continued the long-standing partnership with Bendigo Bank, for its support on the day.
